to the basics - getting good search engine rankings:
- Determine
good key phrases
- Put your key words in the content of the Web
site - focus on one key phrase per page. Text AND PAGE TITLES in html text not
graphics
- Put the title that is on the page into the title tag
- Write
a nice short description tag that describes that page
- Put the key phrase
into the key word tag
- Name the file name the same as the title with underscores
between words
- Make the links to the page text and use the key phrase
- Link
most pages to each other (depending on how many you have)
- Add a site map
with a text description of each page
- Get another website (that is listed
in the search engines) to link to your website
- Also: If you have
a "splash page" - a fun, beautiful home page with no useful information
except the "enter" link - get rid of it.
